In 2012, ordered by the City of Skopje, a Study for valorization of the Zeden Mountain was prepared. The main reason for the preparation of this study was to initiate a procedure with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning for protection of the Zeden Mountain, given the increasingly frequent issuance of concessions for exploitation of mineral raw material – limestone in this area and thus endangering Rashche spring, the main supplier of drinking water to the City of Skopje. It had a study character because until then no papers on the flora, fauna and ecosystems had been published for that area.
